More Home Improvement

He looks a little grumpy, no?
It was such a pain in the butt cutting that piece of wood.
We started out with a ten foot two by four.

The cabinet was an inch smaller than the hole.
He was trying really hard to screw in the screw.
I said, "Joseph, your drill is going to wrong way....
rightie-tightie, leftie loosie."
We have decided that I am the brains and he is the brawn.

I FINALLY have a medicine cabinet! I danced around and sang, I was soooo happy.

Here is what we were using in place of draperies...very attractive.

Look at how monstrous that window is.

The draperies are gorgeous....

Just look at that handsome boy.

Home Improvements

We have been slowly updating our house so that it is even more beautiful. We are (pretty much almost completely) done painting...there are still tiny little touch-up spots that I have pretty much given up on. I really hate painting, so unless Joseph does it....

My very generous co-workers at USAA gave me Lowe's giftcards (and tools!) so we got busy this weekend. We have already spent the giftcards and I would just like to take this minute to say thank you. Danielle, Karen, Renee & Brett, Juliet, Brad, Amber, Brian, Alisha, "Jimmy," Greg & Beth, Asmahan, Jen, GMatt, JMatt, Michael Curtis, Jode, Laura, Catherine, Casey E, Pam, Sean, Ashley, Bea, Charlotte, Robee, and Mr. Cavanaugh...seriously, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much.

And I have received other gifts, so I would like to say thank you to you as well....they just weren't Lowe's giftcards so they don't really pertain to this post...but I still appreciate the generosity.

I have a list of home projects, and we knocked a few out this weekend. We now have a beautiful fan in our bedroom (thanks Dad, you're awesome to come help!) and replaced the ridiculously ugly hallway lights. We replaced the thermostat about a week ago, so that wasn't a project for today, but I wanted to throw that in there.

This is the ceiling "before" picture. Notice the lack of a fan.

Frustrated Joseph.

Joseph, much happier now that my Dad is helping.

What a beautiful fan! And they installed a remote!

I could not WAIT to get rid of this gross light fixture. There were two in my hallway.

The fixture has been removed...look at that paint.

My beautiful hallway light! This is the first one, the second one went
much faster once we knew what we were doing.

I forgot to take the "before" shot of the old thermostat until the face plate had been taken off....

Brand new programmable thermostat.

We still have to install the new medicine cabinet in my master bath...that might have to wait for another day....

And I would just like to say that Joseph and I were a team installing the hallway lights...I was able to solve a couple problems. :) But for the fan installation I was busy keeping my mom company. So I will help on the next two.
